Æra Hope would like to congratulate Audrée Grand’Pierre, our first featured artist, on her recent selection as a Fulbright Scholar.

This scholarship, considered one of the most prestigious in the world, is granted to a select number of exceptional candidates intending to exercise their talents abroad. Audrée plans on continuing her studies in Australia where she will pursue a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology at the University of Queensland, beginning January 2022. Her research will investigate the effects of minority burnout and mental health to promote more inclusive psychological research aimed at better understanding and protecting minority wellness.
Audrée is a 2021 graduate from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine with two bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Visual Arts, as well as a minor in Anthropology. Audrée has grown tremendously as an artist over the course of her education - which includes an immersive four month training in Italy - and has developed a passion for creating pieces that highlight the experiences of Black individuals.
Æra Hope’s collaboration with Audrée was a great success as the 11” x 17” matte poster version of her acrylic & oil painting, "Release," is sold out. This piece is described as “the moment where you can either come up for air, or succumb to the water” and challenges viewers to question where they stand in their life’s journey. Below you will find “Release” as well as a few of her other powerful pieces.
